Located at 829 Nanjing East Road in Shanghai’s Huangpu District, Shanghai Shimao Plaza is positioned at the west end of Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, offering views of the Huangpu River, People's Square, Yuyuan Garden, and Suzhou Creek. Occupying a prime location, the building houses both a shopping center on the lower floors and office spaces on the upper floors. After a 300 million yuan renovation, it reopened in 2018, becoming a landmark in the Nanjing East Road business district.
As part of the renovation, the boiler system underwent a low-nitrogen retrofit. Due to the compact design of the original boiler room, the selection of the right boilers was critical. After multiple consultations, five Fulton EDR1000 hot water boilers were used to supply domestic hot water. The EDR series boilers, developed by Fulton, offer a unique advantage: they are half the size of traditional boilers, allowing for side-by-side placement. Given the complexity of the construction site in downtown Shanghai, the user inquired about the possibility of transporting the boilers via the building’s elevator. After confirming that the EDR1000 boilers met the size and weight requirements for this transportation method, the plan was approved and the order placed.
The EDR series boilers feature ultra-low nitrogen emissions, low noise, frequency conversion regulation, and no need for insulation materials, making them ideal for urban installations.
Century brand, global trust. Fulton boilers have long been trusted worldwide for their safety, environmental performance, efficiency, durability, and excellent service, earning widespread praise across industries.
Tianjin Boeing Composites Co., Ltd. is a joint venture between The Boeing Company and Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). Located in the Tianjin Tanggu Marine Hi-Tech Development Area, the plant covers nearly 60,000 square meters. The first phase, operational since October 2001, spans 23,000 square meters, and the second phase, completed in 2011, increased the area to 48,000 square meters, boosting production capacity by nearly 60%. A third phase of expansion is underway.
In 2017, Tianjin Boeing purchased two FBH-C2.8 (2800kW) vacuum hot water boilers from Fulton (China). These boilers have received widespread praise for their stable performance, energy efficiency, and environmental benefits. Unlike traditional boilers, vacuum boilers are factory-installed and require only connections for power supply and pipes, reducing installation costs by 30–40%.
The boilers primarily serve seasonal heating needs, offering more stable and energy-efficient heating compared to centralized systems. After several heating seasons, the boilers have proven reliable and are trusted by users. Tianjin Boeing looks forward to continued collaboration with Fulton, aiming to further deepen their strategic partnership for mutual benefit and success.
